I’m watching the David Letterman show I taped last night.
No dead time. No jokes that fall flat. He is in prime shape. One joke after another that is just a scream.
NBC and Sarah Palin.
You just can’t make this stuff up. And he didn’t. He’s funny because….it’s all true.
And I haven’t even heard the top 10 yet. I’m still at the part where he un-invites the NBC exec from his anniversary party. (It’s the price you pay for being stupid.)
And of course, Letterman can get away with all of it because…..he used to be at NBC. And he wanted The Tonight Show after Johnny Carson retired. He is in the PERFECT position to comment on the entire situation.
OH! He’s going to invite Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Carson Daly to be on the show. And Jeff Zucker. That’s the top ten tonight: Top 10 messages left on Jeff Zucker’s voice mail.
Oh, here is comes. Jeff Zucker, the head of NBC and the mastermind behind the whole Jay Leno 5 nights at prime time and Conan taking over The Tonight Show. Here come the Top Ten messages left on Jeff Zucker’s voice mail. Well, they weren’t so funny. But the entire commentary leading up to it was priceless. I stop taping after the top 10 so I won’t hear the rest. (But there is enough to see Keifer Sutherland in a dress. A bet with a friend.) But it’s going to continue. Not just tonight but for days, weeks, months. Maybe years.
After all, Letterman is still making fun of Palin’s failed “Fire David Letterman Rally”. And now that she’s on Fox….it will just get better. He’ll have footage.
Speaking of Sarah Palin, the funniest blog comment I heard was about her appearing with Glenn Beck.
